| Duelling Cup Fall Term 2011 The Duelling Cup is ready to start. It is a cup held all-term long, opposing all the duelling club members, but this time in a Knockout tournament. In every round of the Cup, there will be two legs, which means that two matches are played between the two players. one home and one away. A Duelling Club Match consists of two duels, which means that the result of a match can be 2:0 for one of the members or 1:1. After the two legs, the aggregate score determines the winner. If it is tied, we proceed to a penalty shootout (each player is asked five questions and the winner is the one who has the most correct answers). However, this does not apply for the Final, in which only one match is played (if it is tied, we also have a penalty shoot-out). This is a knockout tournament, which means that if you lose a match, you are eliminated from the cup, whereas your opponent proceeds to the next-round. The Cup winner receives 60 galleons and House points and the finalist 30 galleons and House points. On this page, you will find all sorts of information considering the Cup, such as the fixtures or the draw. If you want to take part in it, please first read the Duelling Guide and then register for the Cup. In addition to the awards received for having a successful campaign in the cup, there are some bonus awards available (they are received each time you achieve the specific goal): - Duelling Veteran: participate in 10 Duelling Matches (reward: 25 galleons)
- Duelling Master: win 7 Duelling Matches (reward: 25 galleons)
- Quick Reflexes: win a perfect duel (without taking any damage to your life points) (reward: 10 galleons)
Duelling Cup Contestants: Storm Lupus Kim Frey William Bill Macgonagall Richard Adlard The duels will be held mostly on weekends, to make sure that everyone can participate. We will suggest a time for the match, but if it doesn't suit you, please contact me to tell me a time that does. However, if you agree to a time but don't show up without informing me in advance, your opponent is declared the winner of the match. Furthermore, if you disappear in the middle of a match, you have 15 minutes to come back, or else your opponent is declared the winner. All times in the fixtures are CET (Central European Time), so you have to convert them to your time zone to get them in your local time. The average time of a duel shouldn't exceed 30 minutes so it should not be difficult for you to find time for it. New members are allowed to join until the start of the competition.
