BACKGROUND

Family background and description (Not too detailed but do not make it short):

James Riddle was born and raised in a Muggle family. His father, Robert Riddle, was a high school professor, and his mother didn't work so that she could take care of James and his younger sister Mary.

Personal history (what happened to your character until his current age, at least a paragraph about this, also this section requires to be constantly updated):

James spent his entire childhood in the small town of Barnsley, in Yorshire. He had a perfectly normal existence, going to school like every other child, except for the fact that strange accidents tended to happen when he was particularly angry or scared. He often thought his life was somewhat boring and uneventful, and he loved to escape in magical and imaginary worlds that he discovered in books.
His life drastically changed a few months before his eleventh birthday, when a representative from a school named Hogwarts came to his house to tell him that he was a wizard. His parents first thought it was some sort of joke, but after a demonstration and a thorough explanation they decided to let him choose of he wanted to attend this school. James couldn’t believe his ears. What he had dreamed of during his entire life was coming true. He was indeed someone special. He immediately accepted and eagerly awaited for the term to start, thrilled about the adventure ahead.
When he finally came to Hogwarts, he was amazed by everything that he was discovering about a world he didn’t even know existed, from the fascinating Castle to the incredible spells he was beginning to learn during classes. This was really the start of a new life for him.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

Physical Appearance (what your character looks like: this will help others visualize him or her while role-playing):

James was not particularly tall or short for his age. He had relatively short brown hair and green-brown eyes. He really didn't have any remarkable physical attribute and if you just saw him passing by, you probably wouldn't notice him.

Personality (strengths, weaknesses, traits, flaws, interests, what does he or she love? hate? write a bit about each)

James has always been very tolerant and open-minded, especially since he knows what it means to be prejudiced against, being a Muggle-born. He is loyal, kind and always there to help a friend in need. Even if he may not always admit it due to his modesty, he is quite intelligent, being a true Ravenclaw. Not attracted to power or the dark arts, he doesn't like being in the spotlight, tends to follow the rules and tries always to act fairly. He also has unlimited patience, and has the ability to always remain calm and serene whatever the situation. However, he most certainly lacks in courage, doesn't like taking unnecessary risks, is not very talkative, and can sometimes seem a bit shy or distant, not letting people get close to him easily.

He liked reading books and practicing sports, especially Quidditch as he will discover soon. When it comes to magic subjects, he was above all interested in Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms, but also liked Arithmancy (as he liked mathematics back in muggle school) while his least favourite one was probably divination.

With a shaky hand, he opened his book to page 4, and, trying to remember everything the professor said, he took out his wand. Closing his eyes, he did the required hand movement, and, with and unconvincing voice, said: "Wingardium Leviosa". After opening his eyes, he saw that the feather didn't move at all. Desperate, he turned to the others, and noticed that some of them were also having a hard time. A bit reassured, and determined not to let panic take over, James tried to calm down and took a deep breath. You're trying too hard, just relax, he said to himself. After a few seconds, he closed his eyes again, ready for a second try. This time, he just forgot about his anxiety and entirely focused on his goal. "Wingardium Leviosa". Suddenly, James felt like there was some sort of energy flowing through his entire body, end before he even opened his eyes, he knew it had worked. Confident, he looked at the feather, and realized it had risen far above his head. Now I'm really a wizard.
