Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Sveta was absolutely bored and lonely. She was new to the school and hadn't yet made a friend. Sveta was one of those people who needed friends and loved attention. She is from a rich family so she walked around looking down on others and has a snooty attitude. Sveta was daddy's little girl. She was the only girl, out of four in her family.

She sat on her bed in the Slytherin common room, putting on her shoes. She sat up and looked at herself in the mirror. She saw a miserable face looking back at her. She sighed and wished that mirror showed a happy face with other faces behind her as well, all laughing and doing each other's hair and makeup. She missed that from home. She sighed and grabbed her school robe and walked out of her room and the common room.

She walked up from the dungeons and past the great hall up another floor. The corridor was bright with light and spacious. There were a lot of benches in this corridor too. She sat on a bench by a big window. She looked out and could see buds on trees and hear little songs from birds outside. It was very peaceful up here. She smiled and took out some light reading. She was very into this book that she kept in her purse.

She heard footsteps all around her, it didn't bother her because after all she's in a corridor lots of people will be walking about. However she heard this one persons footstep and she could tell by the loudness and speed that this person was heading for her. She honestly didn't mind if she struck up a conversation with someone. After all she came out here to look for people to socialize with. She put the bookmark back in the book and put the book back in her purse. She wanted to look approachable, so she could have an easier time settling in.

After a class which seemed to have taken forever, Elisabetta and a couple of her new friends packed their book bags and made their way toward the door of the classroom. Each was discussing the first day at school, particularly in Charms class, where they'd had to try to make their quill levitate.

"I managed to get it two inches off of the table!" Betta exclaimed. "A lousy two inches, can you believe that? I guess this class is going to be slightly more difficult than I thought. If I'd just held my concentration a bit longer, maybe it would have gone higher, what do you think?" Her friends agreed, and after Elisabetta, shared a joke with two of her friends, noticed a Slytherin girl sitting by herself not far from her. She told her friends good bye, then made her way over to the other girl, who had obviously been reading a moment before.

"Hello." she greeted with a smile. "I'm Elisabetta, but I'm better known as Betta. What are you reading?" she queried, sitting a foot away from the other girl. "I love books...that's probably why I'm in Ravenclaw. I could read all day." Saying this, she started to stick out her hand for a handshake, then pulled it away, seeing that the other girl was probably not too keen on shaking hands in introduction. Betta cleared her throat. "What are you reading? It must be good."
